2007 IS BEST SEASON YET WITH 480 BIRDS!

Thank you to all for contributing to the success of Flyway Fowling Guide Service having the best season yet.  My personal harvest goal for my clients has always been a season with 500 birds or more.  We came close and next season I will work harder at giving my clients the opportunity to help reach that goal.  A special thanks to Pete Unser for allowing me to shoot a Thanksgiving Day bull can (my first and only duck of the Wisconsin season).  High water in October allowed us to get back into areas we are not normally able to hunt. As a result, we had fantastic puddle duck hunting that entire month. Divers were slow to arrive - we didn't start hunting them until November 1st.  The last day was cancelled due to unfavorable weather and icy conditions. 

Here is a breakdown for the year: 302 puddle ducks (68%), 171 divers (36%) and 6 geese (1%).  We lost 45 ducks which put us at a 91% recovery rate for the season.  We ended up with 21 species with an average of 8.6 birds per day.  I'm pleased to report that we were able to put birds in the boat on every trip out.
